Details and limitations

Processing uses single-thread FFmpeg.wasm in your browser. Your media is not uploaded. The engine is downloaded on first use.

MP4 uses H.264/AAC, WebM uses VP8/Opus, and GIF has no audio. Audio output supports MP3, WAV, M4A, Ogg Opus and FLAC.

Converting a lossy file to FLAC or WAV does not restore lost quality. FFmpeg and bundled codecs have their own licenses; see the linked source.

FAQ

Are my files uploaded?

No. Conversion takes place in browser memory. Only the processing engine is downloaded.

Why can a large video fail?

Browser memory is limited. Try a smaller source or shorter clip. Some codecs are not included in the engine.
