- Select Blur image, check the result and download it.
Example
A 1600 × 900 screenshot with an email address in one corner → select that rectangle, strength 60 → the same screenshot with only the email blurred, saved as PNG.
Details and limitations
Strength scales with image size: 100 is a Gaussian blur radius (standard deviation) of 5% of the longest side. Browsers that do not support canvas blur filters, such as some Safari versions, use a built-in box-blur fallback that looks very similar.
Blur can be partially reversible, especially at low strength or on small text. For sensitive details, use a strong blur or the image mosaic tool. Your image is processed in your browser and never uploaded.
FAQ
How do I blur only part of an image?
Choose Selected areas, then drag a rectangle over each part you want to blur, such as faces, names or license plates. You can also enter an area's position and size in pixels. Everything outside the areas stays sharp.
Is blurring safe for hiding passwords or text?
Not always. A light blur on small text can sometimes be read or reconstructed. Use the highest strength, or cover the text with the image mosaic tool before sharing a screenshot.
Does blurring reduce image quality?
Only the blurred areas change and the pixel size stays the same. PNG output is lossless; JPG output is saved at quality 92% and is smaller.
