How to use

  1. Choose a static photo or illustration.
  2. Set the longest side in pixels, choose a palette and export scale, then create a preview.
  3. Download the PNG. Enable the grid at 4× or 8× scale if you need visible cell boundaries.

Example

Example: a 1200 × 800 photo with 48 pixels on the longest side becomes 48 × 32 cells; at 8× it exports as 384 × 256 PNG.

Details and limitations

Retro mode maps colors to a fixed 16-color palette; grayscale uses four shades. Original colors keep the sampled image colors.

This is an image transformation, not AI generation. It does not identify bead brands or produce a material list. Transparent areas stay transparent unless covered by grid lines.

FAQ

Why export at 1×?

Use 1× for an actual low-resolution sprite. At 4× or 8×, pixels are enlarged with sharp edges for sharing or printing.

Does pixel art conversion hide private information safely?

No. Pixelation is not a reliable redaction method. Remove sensitive content before uploading or sharing an image anywhere.
