    Details and limitations

    Files are processed in your browser without uploading to a conversion server. No account or watermark.

    Up to 20 files per batch, 20 MB and 40 megapixels each. Images are processed one at a time to limit memory use.

    JPEG is lossy. Prefer PNG for fine text or logos, and JPG for photos or smaller attachments. Higher quality cannot restore lost source detail.

    Static images only; animation is rejected explicitly. Metadata such as EXIF is not retained. Color rendering depends on the browser.

    Safari opens HEIC directly. In other browsers this page downloads a HEIC decoder (libheif, about 2 MB) the first time and runs it on your device, so photos still stay on your computer. Output uses an 8-bit canvas: HDR, depth maps and other embedded images are not kept. The video part of a Live Photo is a separate file and is not converted.

    FAQ

    Can I convert several HEIC images at once?

    Select up to 20 static images and convert them together. Save successful conversions in one ZIP; a failed file does not discard the others. Repeated filenames receive a numbered suffix.

    Why does transparency disappear in JPG?

    JPEG does not support transparency. Choose a background color before converting, or use PNG to keep transparent areas.

    Is it free and safe? Are my images uploaded?

    It is free and needs no account. Conversion runs in your browser, so images are not sent to a conversion server. Output files do not keep EXIF metadata such as camera details or GPS location.

    Does it work on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android?

    Yes. Safari on iPhone and Mac decodes HEIC itself. On Windows, Android and Chrome, the page uses its own decoder, so you do not need the HEIF image extension from the Microsoft Store. Phones have tighter memory limits; convert very large photos on a computer.

    Does converting reduce image quality?

    The pixel width and height stay the same. PNG output is lossless; JPG output is compressed at the quality you choose (92 by default), so fine edges can change slightly. Conversion cannot restore detail already lost in the source.

    Can I convert a whole folder?

    In the file dialog, press Ctrl+A (⌘+A on Mac) to select every image in a folder, then convert up to 20 at a time. Dragging a folder itself is not supported; split larger sets into batches of 20.

    How do I make my iPhone save photos as JPG instead of HEIC?

    Open Settings → Camera → Formats and choose Most Compatible. New photos are then saved as JPG. Photos you already took stay HEIC, so convert those here.
