How to use
- Choose a PNG or JPG — logos, icons and flat illustrations work best.
- Set the number of colors (2–64) and the level of detail.
- Convert, check the SVG preview and download it.
Example
A 512 × 512 two-color logo with 2 colors and Medium detail → an SVG of filled paths that stays sharp at any size.
Details and limitations
This is automatic tracing (imagetracerjs): the image is reduced to the chosen number of colors and each color area becomes a vector path. Photos become large SVGs with a posterized look; tracing is best for simple artwork.
Images larger than 1600 pixels on the longest side are scaled down before tracing to keep it fast. Tracing runs in a background thread in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
FAQ
Why is my SVG file so large?
Every color area becomes a path. Reduce the colors, choose Low detail, or simplify the image first.
Is the SVG editable?
Yes. It contains ordinary paths that you can edit in Illustrator, Inkscape or Figma.
Will transparent areas stay transparent?
Transparent pixels become an area of their own with zero opacity, so the background stays see-through in the SVG.
