How to use
- Choose a picture — simple shapes and strong outlines give the best patterns.
- Set the number of beads across and the number of colors; optionally skip a white background.
- Create the pattern, download the PNG chart and use the color counts to prepare your beads.
Example
A 1200 × 1200 picture, 29 beads across, 12 colors → 29 × 29 beads on one pegboard, with a letter and count for each color.
Details and limitations
Colors come from the picture itself (median-cut quantization). They are not matched to a specific bead brand's catalog, so choose the closest bead colors you own using the HEX values.
Each bead corresponds to one cell of the downscaled image. Thick teal lines mark the edges of 29 × 29 pegboards and darker lines appear every 10 beads to make counting easier. Processing stays in your browser.
FAQ
How many beads across should I use?
29 fills one large square pegboard. Use 15–20 for small keychains and 40–60 (several boards) for detailed portraits.
Why does my pattern look noisy?
Lower the number of colors, crop to the main subject, or choose a picture with fewer gradients.
